2. Picnics are fun, choose a dry day

find a spot on Marazion beach to put your picnic blanket and enjoy some tasty food
with stunning views of St Michael’s Mount. Gaze across to the magical castle on the island
walk across the cobbled causeway to the mount (or catch the boat if it’s high tide)
or take a stroll along the south west coast path towards Penzance

Alternatively, Cotehele National Trust has a timeless quality with its long history and has its own romantic appeal.
a picnic here, sitting by the quay - watching the boats and the world go by together
wander the formal gardens or the woodland pathways
breathe – slow down
3. Beach walks are exhilarating, thrilling and romantic, hold hands, blow the cobwebs away - and just the thing to work up an appetite!

Hot chocolate at the café on Poldu beach cannot be beaten! (open 364)
Set back form the dunes the National Trust Café at Godrevy beach serves the best pancakes and maple syrup breakfast, the tempting menu of hot and cold food and drink is served throughout the year

4. Enjoy a romantic adventure

5. Catch the ferry which runs from Rock to Padstow (every 20 minutes)

while there why not spoil yourself with a romantic lunch or dinner at Rick Steins’
alternatively buy fish and chips from his takeaway restaurant to eat sitting on the harbour wall - how to kindle loving spirits!

6. Visit Clovelly– just over the border into North Devon.
it is worth the entrance charge as this picturesque fishing village is unique
from Elizabethan days Clovelly has been in private ownership, which has helped preserve its original atmosphere
it clings to a 400 foot cliff
it has no vehicular traffic, just donkeys and sledges
the steep, cobbled street tumbles its way down to the ancient fishing harbour and C14th quay
sturdy shoes are required.
take your time, stop for a drink at the Red Lion on the quayside
in the season there is a Land rover to carry visitors back up the hill.
we think Clovelly is best seen out of high season and we suggest parking at Brownsham farm National Trust car park and take the beautiful coastal footpath through the Clovelly estate (about 3 miles walk each way).
Clovelly is open all year round
7. Explore Golitha Falls - a famous beauty spot on the edge of Bodmin Moor

where the walker will discover an area of ancient woodlands that sit alongside the River Fowey
beautiful wooded scenery
the river cascading its way through a valley gorge and over a series of cascades into a quiet, tranquil pool at the end
the start of the walk is on fairly level ground and is suitable for all; however further along the valley, good boots are advised
a photographers paradise!
8. Rent bikes - Have fun and be carefree, cycle the Camel Trail!

a popular cycle-way which runs from Padstow to Wadebridge and then on to the foot of Bodmin Moor, following 17 miles of disused railway line
it runs through some of the South-West's most breath-taking countryside
the well-made paths make it a good choice for cyclists of all abilities
open 365 days a year and a great way to explore this beautiful Cornish countryside
bike hire is in plentiful supply in Wadebridge
9. Watch the sun go down. Bude in North Cornwall is a beautiful seaside town, facing the full force of the Atlantic ocean.

Sandymouth beach connects to the main beach at Bude when the tide is low
a lovely little spot to skim stones and watch the sun go down over the sea, with a fish and chip supper to follow?
10. Make bread together – at Launceston’s Artisan Sour dough bakery - Little Bakehouse

every loaf of award-winning sourdough bread is hand made and baked every day in the on-site bakery
as members of the "Real Bread Campaign" no artificial ingredients, improvers, raising agents or preservatives are used
winners of Tiptree World Bread Awards
Little Bakehouse offer a range of courses throughout the year
an ideal present for someone you love, or something to do that's both rewarding and tasty
learning, making and sharing

11. Stay home at Primrose Cottage B&B, walk the woods, listen to the river sounds, the birdsong, settle down together in your own suite and enjoy a bottle of wine - romance indeed!
I know, I know – we can’t count!
