"A truly great place to stay!"
"A last minute break prompted a stay at Primrose Cottage and I was so pleased to find the accommodation excellent with a comfortable sitting room with desk, sofa and fridge/tea making facilities, and a separate bedroom with fully equipped en-suite with a great shower.
All was clean with comfortable beds and lovely soft furnishings. It feels nicely private with the bonus of your own front door. Breakfast was excellent with full choices of fruit, cereals and cooked, served in the dining room with a wonderful view of the gardens.
The location is lovely with opportunity to explore the woods and riverside from the gardens. With a warm welcome from your hosts which included a delicious cream tea, nothing is too much trouble and they aim to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. "

"We stayed in the stable, it is an apartment not just a room, perfectly clean and very comfortable.
We received a very warm welcome from Richard and Ros and a delicious unexpected cream tea with beautiful fresh scones, homemade jam and of course Cornish clotted cream.
Lovely views of surrounding countryside from our rooms and the light and airy breakfast room. A short walk in the grounds takes you past the friendly pigs to the Tamar, a lovely setting. Great to be near Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, several National Trust properties, lots of good walks and other ideas of things to do each day recommended by Ros and Richard who also lent us maps and guide books.
Very tasty and filling breakfast freshly made for each of us, we did not need lunch on our days at Primrose Cottage!
Thank you for a very relaxing stay Richard and Ros, we hope to be back soon."

"Fantastic, relaxing stay in a beautiful location"
"Fantastic location, peaceful and a great place to spend a weekend away.
Really enjoyed the hone cooked breakfast, made with local produce.
A great location for exploring Devon and Cornwall, we enjoyed visiting Tavistock and Llanhydrock National Trust property.
Warm welcome with homemade biscuits. We really liked our suite, and it had a lovely bath."

"A true gem - great place, amazing location, beautiful stay and peaceful break!"
"What a place! We were looking for a B&B with space, quiet, clean, private, good food and ideally located... and we got it all!
The room we stayed in was large, with its own seating area and fantastic views. It felt more like our own cottage than part of a larger house. The facilities are great too - decent shower.
The garden is an outing in itself, with fantastic views and a nice walk down to the river. When you get there, there’s a bench and we’d whiled away several hours watching the wildlife.
We went to find dinner at a few nearby pubs. We ran out of time but there’s lots to do nearby (National Trust places, Tavistock and all the rest of Cornwall). What a fantastic find!"

"Superbly fitted out B&B in a lovely location"
"Pam and I stayed 3 nights in the Stable accommodation which is brand new.
Richard and Ros greeted us warmly and showed us around the split level apartment, this includes a small kitchenette with fridge in the entry area, a huge bathroom with bath and separate shower on the same level and a large bedroom down a couple of stairs.
An unexpected bonus is a living area above the bedroom with views over the Tamar River. All the fittings and fitout are first class, our stay was extremely comfortable.
Ample car parking is available for all guests and entry to the Stable accommodation did not require us to negotiate any stairs."
"A truly lovely place to stay"
"We stayed at Primrose Cottage B&B for 3 nights, and enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits, and throughout our stay our hosts Richard and Ros were very helpful.
The Studio we stayed in included a bedroom, living room and bathroom - all in pristine condition. The living room was comfortable, and comprised a small table and chairs, 2 armchairs, TV, small fridge with tiny freezer compartment, kettle, mugs, plates and cutlery. Primrose Cottage is in lovely grounds, and we enjoyed walking round the garden, to the river and through the wooded area.
This B&B is located very near the A30 and so is very accessible. Parking is available for all guests.
The breakfasts were delicious and there was great flexibility to meet our individual tastes and needs. I enjoyed porridge, fresh fruit, yoghurt; followed by scrambled egg, mushroom and tomato and accompanied by mint tea.
The B&B has lots of information about places to visit, and our hosts have us great recommendations about places to eat in the evening. We do hope to be able to stay in Primrose Cottage again."
"The loveliest accommodation I've ever stayed at. Our apartment was nice and comfortable with a beautiful view over the garden.
The breakfast was homemade and delicious. We had a very warm welcome with Tea and cake though it was late when we arrived.
The couple running the B&B was very kind. We felt cozy and at home. I hope I'll be able to come back one day. And I wish to have more time then, I want to explore the garden and the wood."
"Our wonderful stay at Primrose Cottage."
"Our stay at Primrose Cottage was delightful from the moment we arrived until we sadly had to return home. We were very warmly met on arrival by the proprietors, who could not have been more welcoming.
They showed us to a lovely suite of Lounge, Bedroom with en suite Bath/Shower Room. To say it was homely and comfortable is an understatement. The views from the room were spectacular, from the beautiful terraced garden and woods, out across a field with the cows grazing and resting under a beautiful old Oak Tree. Then further out across more fields and onto the beautiful hills beyond. The only way to describe it is to say, it is the most soothing and relaxing view you could imagine.
Following a most comfortable and restful night, we went down to breakfast in a dining room that not only had a lovely view but we were entertained by a variety of little birds that came to feed from feeders hanging from a tree not three feet from the window. We were offered a choice, from a selection of cereals, cooked breakfasts and a selection of breads and pastries.
After breakfast we descended the terraced garden and took a walk through the woods, which were made even more lovely with the sun rays sneaking down through the leaves. After a slow meander through the woods, we came upon a beautiful river gently splashing down over a really pretty weir. It was so lovely and restful we could have just stayed listening to the water and watching the sun sparkling in the ripples. We would have loved to have stayed longer and will definitely do so next time.
We cannot recommend Primrose Cottage high enough, not just for the accommodation and the wonderful setting and scenery but also for the warm welcome wonderful hospitality of the proprietors. Thank you so very much R & R, we look forward to seeing you again."
"A hidden gem!"
"We had a lovely stay at Primrose Cottage. Ros & Richard are extremely hospitable hosts and made us feel very welcome.
The room was very comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. One of the ‘must-haves’ for us at a B & B is a good shower and this didn’t disappoint.
The breakfast room has wonderful views over the countryside, and the food was delicious and kept us going for the day. We will be back!"
"Lovely calm setting, beautiful views."
"I needed a few days to relax and Primrose Cottage provided a unique setting to do this. Ros & Richard have created a lovely B & B setting, My room had amazing views and was very comfortable, with a separate sitting area and my own front door. I was able to sit quietly in the grounds, loved the river setting but also able to chat with them at breakfast to gain knowledge of the house and area.
I intend to go back when next in Cornwall - thanks Ros and Richard for the lovely home you are sharing with others. I have no complaints, but it would be lovely to see some wild flowers growing by the river, perhaps near the bench by the woods?"
"Excellent B&B in an Idyllic Setting."
"We stayed at Primrose Cottage for three nights and used it as a base to explore Cornwall.
The room we were allocated was excellent having a spacious ensuite and a separate lounge. The grounds of the cottage are amazing with a long river frontage to the Tamar. We spent many an hour sitting on the bank watching the world go by.
Richard and Ros took great care of us and ensured that our every need (within reason) was met. The breakfasts were generous and hearty with a choice of a cooked full English, fresh fruit or pastries.
We thoroughly recommend this B&B."
"Excellent B & B accommodation."

If you are looking for a base to explore the delights that Devon and Cornwall offer then this accommodation cannot be beaten. Highly recommended!"

"Superb views across the Tamar Valley."
"The woodland paths down to the Tamar are a hidden gem ... they lead you to a hidden world where you can relax and take time to do whatever you want. Fish, paint, write, think or read. Richard and Ros are welcoming hosts and the accommodation is outstanding. A wonderful couple days ... thank you ... I will be back!"
